Introduction

The historical link between the Ku Klux Klan and the law enforcement apparatus in America is undeniable. Indeed many members of the KKK also serve in law enforcement. The Sheet and the Shield have been used to instill fear and thereby deny Civil Rights and equality to minorities. Burnings, bombings, beatings, and lynching are just some of the methods utilized by those covered in Sheets to reinforce the belief in the superiority of the Caucasian race.The emotions of fear, intimidation, injustice and inequality which arise when minorities encountered those covered in Sheets also arise when minorities encounter those wearing the Shield. The message from those wearing the Shield is, I am the authority and minorities lack the right to challenge it. The Shield instills fear and intimidates. Those wearing the Shield say, I am Lady Justice, I am equality. So the Shield provides the KKK cover to openly reinforce their belief through fear and intimidation. Racial Profiling exist under the umbrella of the Shield. The Shield sanctions abuse of authority, police brutality, unlawful stops, warrant-less searches, and coerced confessions. This website is dedicated to those who have been denied human and civil rights by those who wear the Shield; those who have been intimidated by those who wear the Shield; those who have been placed in fear By those who wear the Shield; those who have been beaten by those who wear the Shield; those who have been unlawfully stopped by those who wear the Shield; those who are victims of racial profiling by those who wear the Shield. Far too many incidents are unknown. Only a public airing of the abuse will begin to raise the conscience of America regarding the injustices minorities suffer at the hands of the American law enforcement apparatus.
